excited ako nung una pero nung nanghinayang nakong bilin yung isang pakay ko sa Sg, wala na. hehe. pagod lang kakalakad. pero ilang tips sa mga may balak pumunta anytime soon:

• must try ang cereal shrimps and pepper crab. sa No Signboard Seafood ko lang nakain yan, pero malamang sa ibang restaurants meron din. yaan lang orderin mo at rice, pwede na
• kailangan mo din kumain sa Makansutra or Gluttons Bay sa tabi ng Esplanade Mall. nandun lahat ng streetfood na masarap. must try and carrot cake at chicken wings
• mukhang favorite nila talaga ang chicken wings kasi lahat ng food establishments meron nun sa menu. masarap naman talaga
• IKEA! kailangan mo puntahan yun (bus 33, 64, o 195 depende kung san ka galing)
• bumili ng metro card kung walang tour guide at balak mo mag-ikot. 1 card lang for both train and bus rides. mas madali pagsakay-sakay
• at kailangan mo sakyan yung attraction rides sa Clark Quay

imposible bang mangyari yung nababasa natin sa mga fairy tale books?

gusto kong i-share ang isa sa mga short stories na sinulat ko nung 2006 tungkol sa proverbial ‘fate’. sana magustuhan ninyo. pagpasenshahan niyo na, kung madiskubre ninyo kung sino ang tinutukoy ko sa kwento. hehe. a girl can dream, sabi nga.

Misyon [lp]

anong misyon mo sa buhay?

may ibang mga tao, ang gusto ma-conquer ang mundo.

may iba naman, kuntento nalang sa pagiging pawn or yung sunud-sunuran nalang sa agos ng panahon, ng tao, ng kahit ano. may mga tao lang talaga na walang ambisyon sa buhay.

but if there’s one thing i don’t like about a person, it’s when he/she decides to quit and then complains about it.

so ikaw, naisip mo na bang talaga ang misyon mo sa buhay?

Pagkatapos [lp]

isang beses napaaga ako sa airport para sa isang trip (as in mga 2 hours na mas maaga) kaya ayun, naupo ako sa isang tabi. at kesa naman ma-bore ako magintay, inilabas ko na lang ang camera ko at nagkukuha ng litrato…

kahit na walang kwenta ang mga kuha ko, dinaan nalang sa post process. make the most out of what you have, sabi nga. kaya ayan na yun, pagkatapos.

Foundations [lp]

Buildings are beautiful when they have great foundations. Come disasters for great structures with weak bases, they won’t be pretty anymore when they’re in heaps of rubble. Diba?

The reason why I’m pointing this out is because I heard Smart Buddy’s Me na Me radio ad earlier today and I thought that it didn’t promote such nice values.

The VO in the ad starts by asking kung strict ba parents ng nililigawan mo or something to that effect. The girl VO says “sorry ha, strict parents ko eh” in a pakipot way. Then the VO suggests na araw-arawin mo nalang sa telepono! Labo ha. Ligawan mo nalang sa text araw-araw, gabi-gabi.

Call me conservative. Whatever. I still think it wasn’t promoting the best of principles. So ano yun, never mind tradition to pay courtesy to the girl at home? Medyo hindi yata ako agree dun ah.

Sa huli nung ad sinagot nung girl yung lalaki. Okaaay.

Alarming lang what kind of values our kids are growing in these days. I know when I was younger and raging in teenage angst and hormones my parents worried about the same things. Pero ngayon, iba na eh. What with ingrained technology in our lifestyles. Text lang, pwede mo na ligawan. Mapapasagot mo pa. Eh hello, sa Facebook nga lang pwede ka na magka-gf/bf ng hindi mo pa nam-meet yung tao.

Like I said, foundations are what make a sound building. It won’t be beautiful if the base wasn’t strong.

Paradise [lp]

Gusto kong sinusuot ang damit na ito pag pumupunta ng beach dahil presko at summer na summer ang kulay.

Actually, ang entry ko ngayon ay pinilit lang Kasi gusto ko lang ishare ang napakagandang beach ng Club Paradise sa Dimakya Island sa Palawan! Nagpunta kasi kami doon nung weekend, all expense paid. Sales incentive naman kasi. At sobrang bitin ang 3 days!

Naririnig ko na dating yung ‘amusement tax’. Pero ngayon ko lang narealize, nakakatawang isipin na may buwis ka pang babayaran para ma-entertain.

Ito ang pulang ticket sa cinema ng Gateway Mall. Amusing. Oops, baka magbayad ako ng tax!

Freestyle [lp]

Masunurin akong bata eh, kaya freestyle itong una kong litrato. Hehe.

Kuha to nung college ako, nung nag-take ako ng basic photography class. Ito si Chody, kasama siya sa UP Streetdance Club kaya magaling siya mag-freestyle ng kung ano-ano sa pagsayaw at break dance.

Kaya lang, ang sagwa ng pagkaka-develop ko (manual kami noon, kami mismo nag-process sa dark room) kaya ayan, may tama ng mga fingerprints at ang daming scratches! Kahit mahirap mag-develop ng sariling film, masaya pa rin kasi feel na feel mo ang pagiging photographer mo. Sana wag tuluyang mawala ang film photography no?

pero sorry nalang sa mga nangangaroling pag Pasko. hanggang barya lang kayo. pero sa aking pamilya sa mother’s side, galante ang aking mga kamag-anak. hindi mo na kailangang mangaroling, basta pumila ka lang, may malutong na bente ka na.

Bahaghari [lp]

The photo may not be much (phone camera lang po kasi), but the meaning is something else. God gave us the world and everything in it for us to enjoy. I was excited the first time I saw Mia at the nursery. I was excited during the first time she could crawl and sit up. I was excited everyday to go home to her. I still am.

These days, it’s hard to find anything to inspire us and be excited about because of the looming financial crisis. But once we find that inner peace in Him, there’s no reason not to look forward to the next day, and the next, and the next.

I wish this kind of peace for everyone so we can all be excited for the new year ahead of us. Take care!
