I was not disappointed by my own government.
Ever tried applying for or renewing your passport? Can you believe that a government agency can actually give you service fast and efficiently without having to bribe anyone behind the glass, or having to wait in line for hours? I couldn’t until I stepped out of the DFA Libertad entrance gate at around 9:45 a.m. last Friday, when I just entered that same pair of gates at about 9:30 a.m.
Of course, around 3-4 minutes were spent having to queue in line to be frisked by a rather hostile lady guard, who probably did not plan on getting up early that morning due to the nice, cold, rainy weather. I didn’t either, but my passport had expired last year (and oblivion was bliss until now), so time to gather my identity and get it over with.
