Life in bullet points

- Mia put on her shorts/pants/undies by herself once or twice. What a proud mom I am. Now if only she would stop removing her shirt when she sees dancing girls on tv.

- Sometimes what you think are ghosts from your past could still be very much alive. The problem is, it’s quite hard to distinguish whether you want them haunting you or not.

- Mia can count 1 thru 10! She keeps missing 5 and 6 but hey, if she got everything perfect all the time then I really wouldn’t have much to do.

- Working to live. Living to work. When you start wishing time would stop so that you can work more, it’s not good. But I wonder if i’m gonna get a raise this year?

- That little dream of becoming a pro photographer is fading fast quickly. sigh.

- Mia is playing with her V-Tech laptop from her ninong Joel. I wonder if she’ll
get the same British accent? :)

- I’m missing my friends. All work and no play. *pout* I just wish some of them would get married already. Para makaabay na din si Mia. :D

- To go or not to go. That is the question. Unfortunately I only have 6 days left to come up with an answer.

- 2009 will be my year. Anytime now. Anytime…

- To write and to shoot. And get paid ridiculously high fees for it. That is my dream job.

- Getting unexpected hugs and kisses from that little person who calls you mommy is bestest feeling in the whole world.

Happy endings

January 21st, 2009 | 1 Comment | Posted in Between me and Him, Drama Queen moments, Friends

I am really truly happy for some of my friends who have found the happiness they deserve. One got a Starbucks planner, a bag, and a devotional from someone really special on her birthday today. this time last year we were thinking if she would ever like anyone enough to consider getting into a relationship.

Two others just got married. Several more are expected to tie the knot this year. I mean, the love bug seemed to have gone on a biting spree in the last 2 years.

But happy endings don’t grow on trees. Some of us suffer well long enough before ending up walking the aisle. Some too long they don’t even recover. But what is it that really matters?

And I won’t even try to sugarcoat it. At the end of the day, it’s if you did the right thing even if it damn hurts; if you realize your worth not just to others but your self-worth; if you find that you are capable of forgiving more than what is deserved; if you can love even after Everything.

Most of the time I don’t get it and why God would even allow it to happen. But now I realize that in all of these, it’s either you end up with someone and you become more understanding, or you end up alone but you become more mature. Either way you’re supposed to become a better person. If it doesn’t then that’s a different story.

So to my friends who are in the process of finding their happy endings, let’s not give up. Nobody said it would be easy, they just said it would be worth it. And who said God didn’t care?

He’s sometimes in that glimmer of hope. Or in that last strands of patience. Or the unexpected call. Or the bits of strength that get you through the day. Or the random coffee nights. Or even that once in a while bump-into-someone kind of events.

Who knows diba? Then maybe one of these days I’d be writing about how we found those happy endings after all.

The Tambayan

October 3rd, 2008 | 2 Comments | Posted in Friends, Photoblogging

Nags-strum. May sumaling isa pa, nag-lead.

Hindi lahat sa aming magkakaibigan grumaduate on time. Nevertheless, even beyond the sablay and the fulfilled smiles right there in the picture, magkakasama pa rin kami hanggang ngayon.

At dito na kami makikita ngayon:

nagce-celebrate ng Valentine’s Day together (weird no?) sa Paseo Park,

nagb-beach kung saan mapadpad,

at sa airport — papunta somewhere. :)

Dati, anything goes pag gumagala, nagbabakasyon, o naglalakwatsa.

where the grass is greener by you.

UP Los Banos, June 2008

Flame on!

Not mine, but of two good friends of mine. I wanted to share the AVPs I did for their wedding last January 6 at the Madre de Dios Chapel, the Midlands, Tagaytay Highlands.

Teacher Crabby Patty

March 31st, 2008 | 4 Comments | Posted in Friends, Photoblogging

Passion is a person. It’s not a word, not just a concept or an idea. For me at least, and this one person I was blessed enough to be friends with.

Not many people can take a big leap into their dreams, whether it be up in the clouds or across oceans, and say ‘This is what I want, where I’ll be happy, and where I’ll be very good at.’ For a human being, leaving his comfort zone is unnatural. It’s a risk to let go of something or someone that gives him security, whether financial, professional, physical, or emotional. It’s a risk not many can afford. But there are some who dare take that step in order to fulfill their calling.

Teacher Crabby Patty, kiss the blessing that you were given, embrace your calling, because I know that where you are happiest there you will be great also. We’ve raved and ranted to each other about our lives’ destinies, and here you are now fulfilling yours. I just couldn’t help but post about you because there seems to me a lot people who question theirs.

Many don’t realize it, but there are great adventures to be had if only they would step out of their shells and discover the world. I hope we both find that adventure. I’ll update you on mine. :)

*I was going to post a college photo of us but I don’t have any here in the office, so habol nalang. :)
