Creating a Creative Spirit in Your Child
Give a toddler’s imagination room to grow — you’ll be amazed at how far it can take her.By age two, your toddler’s creativity and imagination is fully on display, and what an entertaining show it is! She’ll wow you with herability to scribble a blue blob and call it a picture of a kitty cat, or pick up a stick and wave it around like a pretend firefighter’s hose. Your 29-month-old can tell you she’s planning to “move my house to the moon” with pure conviction. You’ve gotta love that!

I am resisting the urge to bring out the Play Doh and let her play with it. But why not, right? We had so much fun the last time we played with clay, just very, very messy.

I’m hesitating about playdoh… my son’s already 3 but I still can’t help but think he might eat the playdoh… Maybe I’m just paranoid eh?

would you believe amelie doesn’t like touching clay, playing with sand or holding a paint brush? maybe it’s just a matter of time before she starts to like them all so right now mommy would just have to wait..

I loved exploring things with my then, toddler. Play Doh is creatively entertaining at first, but when it sticks to your hair, on the floor and everywhere else, you’d want to keep it and move on to the next toy.
Give her lots of paper, crayons and watercolor (for finger painting) then make up stories about the pictures she will draw/paint. That would be fun!
