I miss you already…

March 28th, 2009 | 5 Comments | Posted in Photoblogging, Ready jetset go!

Green Shore by you.

When will I see you again? When we were together my mind was free, my lungs breathed fresh, I knew no tiredness.

Hay, Palawan.

Photo stocks

uh-huh. didn’t want to let my photos go to waste, so I joined. learned about it from a photographer friend too.

try it. click on the photo or this link.

WeSay, I say..

I’ve been paying more attention to my photography hobby lately so being part of good photography groups mean a lot. This is especially when I need to learn about more techniques and styles not just in taking photos but in post-processing too. (Lately Photoscape has been the answer to my Lomo-less situation, wink wink).

Sometimes though, it’s not enough to snap pictures of everything you see. Sometimes a landscape shot wouldn’t be as intersting without a context. Building a story through pictures is one subject that I love doing. I’ve done that in one of my LP entries, recycling my photo story plates back in college. I’ve really been leaning towards photoblogging lately. Pictures speak louder than words. WeSay.com is one such group that allows photo enthusiasts, even amateurs, to show what they’ve got through photo journalism.

I admit I’m not very good at this yet, but I am willing to learn. Joining a photo contest is a good chance to learn and challenge your usual way of doing (or photographing) things. When I joined the 100 Strangers Project it made me bolder to approach potential subjects. Joining WeSay’s photo contest will open your eyes even wider because of the Citizen Photojournalism challenge. You submit photos that make today’s news. It’s really that simple. It can be anywhere from road accidents to travel news to Obama and even to the weird and fascinating.

Try it, I am. :)

On the flipside [lp]

Kakaibang sapatos.

Mukhang puro CP na mga litrato ang makikita niyo dito for quite some time. :) At medyo maaga ang aking pag-post dahil ngayon lang talaga ako nagka-oras. Buti pang maaga, kesa wala.

If the shoe fits. Iba’t-ibang larawan ng mga sapatos dito!

Paradise [lp]

paradise

Nagpunta kasi kami doon nung weekend, all expense paid. Sales incentive naman kasi. At sobrang bitin ang 3 days!

Ikaw saan sa Palawan ka na nakapunta?

Blouse o Polo? Ikaw mamili.

Unexpected kisses and more

flickr-mosaic
1. Flower Cross Process, 2. Curious Mia, 3. Stalker, 4. Long day, 5. water nymph, 6. Stop, 7. Street Pulse, 8. monk, 9. the beach, 10. who, me?, 11. contact prints, 12. picking shells, 13. kiss!, 14. hands, 15. the missing bead, 16. it’s all ok

Things I learned looking at the world through the lens.

  1. When God closes the door, He opens a window. I lost some of my good photos when my brother accidentally reformatted the backup drive. But some of them survived and I got the chance to use them for a meme entry. I thought I didn’t have anything else, and it turned out to be better than I expected.
  2. When your child shares with you a discovery, pay real good attention. You might just learn a few things of your own. Like how beautiful it is to be looking at a little person’s delighted smile.
  3. Even mundane things can be something extraordinary. All it takes is a bit of different perspective.
  4. Sometimes days are just too long.
  5. Chance encounters are always something to look forward to.
  6. Waiting can be a drag, but you never know what you get afterward.
  7. Living in the fast lane is both dangerous and beautiful. Or either one.
  8. Sometimes just sitting still is the best solution.
  9. Life’s a beach. :)
  10. Good genes. When I was in nursery, my ambition was to be an artist, just like my dad.
  11. Film will always rock.
  12. Never stifle a child’s curiosity.
  13. A kiss from your kid is always the best thing in the world, especially when it’s unexpected.
  14. Even tiny hands can hold so much hope.
  15. Branded or not, nasa nagdadala yan.
  16. It’s funny how great a change one’s life can have. The key there is how you embrace it and make the most out of it.

My good friend P inspired this Flickr mosaic tag. Go and grab if you feel like it! :)

Randomimity

March 1st, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Tag you're it!, What's it like to be me
Randomimity (ran-do-mi-mi-tee), noun, adj. – stuff without pattern, lacking regularity. In other words, a word I invented for lack of a better term for random stuff. :D

I like how things are sometimes unpredictable, when it spells excitement and adventure. But not when life is at stake, or my ass. Oh well, it doesn’t get better than this.

the 2nd album cover, tagged via Facebook

Instructions:
1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first article title on the page is the name of your band.

2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.

3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover
You then take the pic and add your band name and the album title to it, then post your pic.

Russel Brand’s Ponderland album

the 1st album cover, tagged a long time ago

Google your name, add the word “needs”, and then type the first five answers that come up in the search results.

1. IRIS needs ID. ->because i’m an alien

2. “Where are you James when IRIS needs you?” harhar!

3. IRIS needs the following Ultima Online (3D) Client files to work correctly.. ->okaay. i’m either an alien or an android :)

4. IRIS needs to be expanded and improved.

5. IRIS needs airfare! ->hmm. hint hint?

I can’t help but feel all of these random tags are somehow related. Hmm.

If I could have it my way

I’d go to New York. Or Paris. Or Italy. Seriously, getting denied by the Japanese embassy for a visa is so frustrating! Oh yes, what I was raving about a few weeks ago suddenly disappeared in a cloud of dust. Kapoot. Gone. The Japanese embassy had the heart to deny half of our company’s visa applications, and all of those were us females.

That afternoon a few weeks ago when our HR Manager announced there’s some “very bad news”, I knew my Mt. Fuji exploits (all of them about photography, don’t worry) would never materialize. I silently cursed the powers that be that probably thought these single ladies would only be looking for husbands to milk there. (Do I hear Beyonce in the background?) More »
