My First Stranger

Found this new group on Flickr through Ate Pao. It’s called 100 Strangers, and you’re supposed to submit a photo (1 per day only) of a stranger via the Flickr site. The group isn’t just all about getting to publish your photography skills, but for you to pick up new skills on photojournalism, processing and all that stuff. It’s a great venue to learn many photography styles.

This is great especially for those starting out in the field, or for those wanting to take better ‘people pictures’. :) It’s also a great way to meet new people.

It’s really interesting. Why don’t you join us?

Here’s my first 100 Strangers photo. I haven’t really seen any photo of anyone whose face wasn’t shown, so I really really hope this makes it. The little kid was too shy to look at the camera (it was just a cam phone, nothing intimidating, right?) when I asked him if I could take his photo.

I really did ask nicely, so he just smiled at me and just continued to do his thing. He was picking coins at one of the fountains at Tiendesitas. He didn’t take any of them, though. He was just transferring them from one place to another in the fountain.

I didn’t think the fountain was a wishing one, but I guess whatever grants our wishes is relative. For this little boy, this one probably does.

i like your perspective in this photo. would’ve loved to see his face, but this perspective is a bit more interesting. were you able to get his name?

that’s the thing. he wouldn’t even say anything! :D sobrang mahiyain. or maybe na-guilty siya nung nakita kong pinaglalaruan niya yung coins :)
