Hi, I’m Iris and I’m a road-raging driver.
Hi Iris.
I’m here today because I have a temper whenever I drive and I can’t hold it back no matter how small the offense. Since I started driving and having appreciated the rules and regulations on the road, I have begun to expect the same road courtesy from fellow drivers and pedestrians as I have given them.
But things have changed when the reality dawned on me that you just cannot control some people.

Road Rage Did It Hit YOU by ~darkbrokenwingangel
Especially those who do not have the words “traffic rules”, “right of way”, and “road courtesy” in their vocabularies. An example of these kinds of people would be public bus and jeepney drivers, tricycle drivers, and most recently due to the absurd gas prices these days, the increasing hoard of motorcycle drivers.
I absolutely loathe those motorcycle drivers who have no consideration whatsoever that the road is not solely theirs, nor are the vehicles the slightest forgiving should they choose to be stupid (which is most of the time) and swerve in and out of the lanes. They think because they are so small that they are tiny, excusable specks on the road. They are not.
Recently my uncle got into an accident where a motorcycle slammed into the backside of his SUV and one of the 2 passengers of the bike had his leg amputated. The other one I’m not sure if still in one piece. My uncle said he did not even see them coming and they hit him at the back. It was horrible, but I felt for my uncle rather than the bike riders. Both did not even have their helmets on, and the driver did not have a license.
There have been many motorcycle accidents I have been witness to, and almost all of them were the result of idiotic, uneducated bike drivers. I have so many stories to tell but I feel one day would not be enough.
Still, I feel like I have done more damage to myself than those people I encounter in the streets. I couldn’t very well get out of my car and smash the other vehicle’s window every time I get pissed, could I? But at the same rate, I watch as my stress level increase, my wrinkles go haywire, and my day is just ruined. Who knows what else it does to my blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
So today I decided to control myself since I cannot control other people. My mom is right. It’s getting the best of me and it’s not pretty. I might even consider doing what these mothers do.
Thank you.

Horaayy..there are 3 comment(s) for me so far ;)

hay sinabi mo pa, ate kengks. kung may baril nga ako sa kotse, malamang nakapatay na ako. talagang test of patience. kaya nga im trying to control it, kasi narealize ko it’s not pretty when I get mad. talagang galit kung galit. mahirap na, baka ako pa mapasama diba?
pero it doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be any control over idiot drivers like that. yeah, maybe granting licenses should be controlled more. dapat yung edukado lang. hehe.

lolz ako naman i’ve been driving for uhmm 3 weeks pa lang cguro, but nako i get irritated na w. jeepney’s & motorcycles! kaya nga i ddnt want to drive na before kase, filipino’s don’t know “traffic rules” even if it hit them in the face & amputate their legs.
anyway, we can’t do anything about that kase its the ’system’ better listen to soothing music nalang to keep calm
mahal ang magpa botox pag nagka wrinkles! ehehehe
