During my recent trip to Cagayan de Oro (just for work unfortunately), my officemates and I made sure we sampled the best of CDO. We were not to let go of a great opportunity to try out the food there, of course. Hay, Filipinos talaga and their love of food.

One of the best is a cozy little Italian bistro along Hayes street in the CDO town proper called, La Tegola Cucina Italiana. The resto is a few meters from the Dynasty Court Hotel and also very near the night market they call Plaza Divisoria. They serve the best bruschetta, lasagna, pizza, and pesto sauce! I actually forgot what pizza we ordered exactly but I think whatever you order there is a winner. Plus they have real gelatto. It’s just too bad what we ordered for 4 was actually good for 6 already.

We were there quite early on a Sunday night (around 6pm) and we were the only customers. But the place gets packed usually later during the night and reservations can normally be made. The staff is really nice too. If you’re swinging by CDO anytime soon, check out La Tegola. Or if you’re in Cebu, you can also head on over to the Marina Bay or Caesar’s Foodland.

By the way, “Voglio mangiare ala Cucina Tegola” means, “I want to eat at La Tegola”.
