Aking Ina [litratong pinoy]05.08.08

Sana’y magustuhan niyo ang litratog ito! Magandang LP weekend! :)

Litratong Pinoy, Aking Ina

She doesn’t like to eat05.03.08

This is one of those times I wish Mia was born full-term. At other times, it’s really ok that she chose to greet the world earlier than scheduled. I’ve been having a difficult time getting Mia to eat, not just a particular food, but every type of food. Well not everything. She can feed herself noodles and that’s the only time she can finish what I put on her bowl.

But lately fruits and veggies have taken the back seat in her diet and the only thing she’ll welcome with open arms is chocolate. So why do I wish she was born full term? At least she would have gained enough weight to be on track, and not just her height that’s doing ok.

We just had our routine wrestling-slash-crying session, err, checkup with the doctor this morning and she says Mia’s height is within the acceptable range but her weight is not. She’s just at 8.6kg or 18.96lbs. That’s pretty underweight for a toddler her age.

There was this little kid who is 1 year and 3 months old (just 2 months younger than Mia) who was at the hospital at the same time as us and she was huge. She was so big and chubby (and cute) that when she was walking by herself and her mom was telling her to be careful, I thought, ‘How else could she fall off her 2 feet with all that weight?’ :) That was meant in a positive way, mind you, but really, I was thinking to myself the baby wasn’t even wobbling, she was so sturdy already!

Mia’s other developmental milestones have been great and pretty surprising, and the weight department is just one area that she needs to be better in. I know, at another point in the future it could be a problem again, but right now all I want for her is to gain the right amount of weight.

Our pediatrician actually changed her vitamins to include Cellife, a food suplement that is mixed in food or beverages three times a day. Ever heard about it? I was wondering kasi how effective it will be for Mia. She used to just take Ceelin and Clusivol for kids, but it wasn’t just working.

How about you, what vitamins do you give your kid? And any tips on getting toddlers to eat more? I’d really appreciate it. :)

If I were the president of the Philippines05.02.08

Warning: Not for the politically sensitive.

  • Discard all my 2-inch hills and buy all the 3 to 4-inched stilletos in the designer market. Using kickback money, of course
  • Have my rather distracting mole surgically removed
  • Fire my fashion stylist for the boring suits and personally hire Tommy Hillfiger. That’s hitting 2 birds with one stone. Fil-American ties are cemented.
  • Discard my standard government-issue plate number and go with “KICKASS” or “G-UNIT”

Around the world05.02.08

It’s one of those linky love tags again, so indulge me again. It’s because of efforts like this one that we get higher google PRs :) Thank Christine!

Let all the bloggers around the globe come together in unity by blog linking. All you have to do is add your name to the list. Don’t forget to specify the country where you are from and of course, link your name to your respective blog. If you have two or more blogs, add and link ‘em all. Then invite 8 or more bloggers to do the same. Here we go!

Julia from Philippines, Catherine from Malaysia, Shi from USA, Mitch from Philippines, Hailey from Philippines, Sexymom from USA, Liza from Philippines, Sasha from Philippines, Thess from Netherlands, Marie from Philippines, Evi from Canada, Christine from Australia, Vannie from the Philippines, Iris from the Philippines.

And since Vannie I think tagged me with this one, I’m including your links here. Tagging everyone on my WP blogroll!

Work hard, dress the part05.02.08

I have just been struck by the fashion bug and along with my convenient excuse that I have a new career ahead of me, I am raiding the shoes department in search for the perfect pair of boots. I may not be the devil who wears Prada or the Shoppaholic who has got the map of the fashion district tattooed on her brain, but I would really, really like to play the part when it comes to power dressing.

Who wouldn’t, when you’re walking down one of the central business district’s streets and wearing flats either mean you got callouses all over your foot (for running up and down the building for meetings in your 3-inch heels) or you’re simply out of style. Don’t get me wrong, I loooove flats (depending on the style of course). But sometimes there are just days that you want to sport that killer heel, right?

Now don’t judge me, but there was a season in fashion when anything western (think leather and western belts, and rope-slingin-gun-touting-cowboys) was in style. And now I think it’s back.

So anyway where was I? I was about to relate how unsuccessful my boot hunting is until i saw this badass pair on cavenders.com,

Corral ® Ladies Pink & Brown Skull & Cross Bone Pink Atanado

and this.

Ariat® Ladies Heritage Western R-Toe Boots - Russet

Well you won’t exactly see me wearing them, but looks interesting, don’t they? :)

Magandang LP weekend! :)
