18 minutes

April 24th, 2008 Posted in What's it like to be me

QC to Makati in 18 minutes and at least 80 kph. Daytime. I couldn’t believe it myself until I finally parked in Valero and looked at my watch. I left the house at 5:54am (I know, addict ako eh; coding today) anticipating some traffic in Edsa here and there.

Lo and behold, I was breezing through the highway and have dramatically decreased incidences of cursing and finger-pointing by as much as 90%. I had to drop off my brother at Boni which is responsible for the 5% (the buses weaving in and out of the bus lanes are horrendously ill-mannered), and a government convoy led by a loud police motorcycle was responsible for the other 5%. Why they were in a rush and had to sound the siren at otherwise peaceful drivers at such an early time and with virtually no traffic at all is beyond me.

Maybe the passenger had a serious case of diarrhea or something.

Anyway, on to much, much better things. Thank you to everyone who has left a comment in my earlier entries. I couldn’t reply even at the office because there’s something wrong with our connection. Apparently I can’t leave a comment on my own blog but I can on others’. But I’ll get around to it tonight or this weekend. So keep it coming :)

And oh, I’m ok by the way. Refering to my earlier rant about disappointing people. I just choose to forget and be happy. That’s it.

Eh 5:45 ka ba naman umalis… :) Okay na rin, para malamig pa ang hangin at wala pa masyadong kaagaw sa kalsada.

Naku Ris, di ba nakakatakot yung ganung oras? I mean gone are the days when I literally wake up earlier to commute going to the hospital (during my apprentice years). And I cannot imagine living in Manila driving my own car, not that I have, (and I don’t drive) kahit ndi rush hour, sa paghanap pa lang ng carpark, disaster na.

Now I am not sure if I am ready to leave HK for good. So I’m taking your advice, just enjoy life and be happy.

haha disaster is a nice word. di naman delikado, mas masaya nga eh, kasi konti lang ang sasakyan. but the downside is, it’s detrimental to my sleeping schedule :)

why not? there’s no place like home like manila, manila. :)
