photoblogging: monsters rise
Rise of the Monsters
you’d think there was some sort of theme in this post.
first, happy valentines. belated, that is. i really don’t celebrate the occasion because as the cliche goes, you can let someone know that you love them any time of the year. nevertheless, just so i can post a lazy photo of anything related to the year’s most overrated event:

lately i’ve been compelled to go on a healthier diet of less carbs and more veggies. i love vegetables (except okra and pechay) and i have no problem with that really. if not for my mom pestering me to lose some weight, i’d say the monsters of fashion tv are haunting me.

i don’t mind the diet because of the abundance of good diet-friendly food these days. there’s a great tasting salad at Al Dente, for example. it just makes you feel like you’re a diet guru after eating just their chicken & bacon ceasar salad and feeling full already. don’t mind the sarcasm (just one of those days). it really is good.

another round of applause for the graffiti boys over at our neighborhood. first was the very dramatic rendition of melancholy. now there’s a monster rising out of the ground at the corner of xavierville avenue and katipunan. beware. its tentacles might just come alive and what with its crazed eyes it might mistake your head for a lollipop. (i love photo editing. see the old graffiti markings too? i only saw them after tweaking the photo’s midtones a bit. the MMDA might have been successful the first time, but they’re not stopping this monster.)
edit: i passed by the graffiti wall again this morning and monster talks! i’ll try to take a picture of that and post it here.

you too!
vannie - dali, gawa ka na ng salad! alamo i have yet to learn making my own ceasar salad dressing.
oo nga, medyo inaanticipate ko na ang mga habulan sessions namin. but it’s ok because i know it’s such a big milestone for her. hanggat maaari kasi ayoko nab-baby eh. kaya dapat matuto na siya.

A monster eating veggies? What did you to edit the photo? I can’t use my Photoshop, don’t know how.
I love OKRA, slimy yes, but it’s good for a diabetic person I think. Pechay di ba masarap yan na boiled lang tapos with oyster sauce?

k - now that you’ve put it that way, oo nga no? i didnt notice the monster ‘eating’ the plants. now we’ve got a vegetarian monster! hehe.
i still don’t like pechay because it’s bitter, whichever way you cook it

I’m okay with okra and pechay… Dunno, my Mom and sis cook okra in a certain way that they’re not so slimy. Pechay, okay too.
I like vegetables. Last year, I was a vegetarian which lasted for about 10 months. Now, I only meat about 5 times a month for balance (iron, etc…. so I don’t turn anemic). I stick mostly to seafood.
Belated happy love day… and yes, it’s an over-rated day. Every day, we should celebrate all kinds of love, tolerance and acts of kindness. V Day is just a day that we allow business and marketers to mess with our minds… to buy their stuff.

fruityoaty - really? okra not slimy? please tell me how they do it so my mom will know. hehe. i don’t think i can go fully vegetarian though. im still taking it one at a time. but if it’s just seafood (except with sabaw) count me in.
yeah, valentines is one big marketing ploy

Cool! I noticed that graffiti too when we were on our way to Libis. Galing nga ng Photoshop no, I’m trying my hand at it too just to add some more details to my photos. Medyo slow pa ko, have to consult the tutorial every now and then.
Mia’s walking na, yay! I agree with Vannie, ilang tulog na lang, habulan na kayo niyan.

Hay naku, all veggies are yummy!
Just depends how you cook them. I looooove alugbati Ambo. It’s what I would use with monggo. I also would eat okra if it’s cook pakbet style with coconut cream. And for pechay, I love it with egg noodles, a bit of sesame oil, chilli sauce and shrimps! Yum yum yum.
As for losing weight, I miss Slimmer’s World. I used to go there 3x a week. Gym membership over here is so expensive and they don’t have lifetime memberships either. I of course feel lighter because I am pescotarian.
