A night at The Fort

A night at The Fort

i had the chance to treat my family out to dinner last night at the fort. we went around fashion market at market! market! first to buy some more gifts, then went to Bonifacio High Street to have dinner. i was taking them to Texas Roadhouse Grill but the restaurant was full and we were 7th on the waiting list and my mom was already complaining. so, we head back and on the way, asked at Italiani’s, Mini Shabu-Shabu, and Claw Daddy’s all to no avail. the place was just crawling with families and groups of friends gathering for pre-Christmas celebration dinners.

i got frustrated because i really wanted to eat at Texas Roadhouse. the chicken tenders are just awesome. i realized i should have called to reserve. well, next time. so we ended up at the Polu Kai Grill at Serendra. since we really had no choice, as the other restaurants were full (except for Brazil Brazil, that only offered buffet meals at P600++/head which my mom pointed out that she was not going to get my money’s worth for it), i had us get a table at the Hawaiian themed restaurant.

i wasn’t exactly happy with the service because the waiters were not friendly or accommodating. it also took them a lifetime before the glass of water i requested got to our table. i actually don’t remember it ever arriving. the place wasn’t jam-packed for crying out loud. it’s not as if there were many customers waiting to be seated. moreover, whenever i ask for something, it’s as if i’m taking up so much of their precious time. it’s hard enough wrestling with mia to stay off the table.

i’m really easy to please. at any restaurant, even if the food takes a while, it’s ok with me as long as the people serving are actually happy to be doing their jobs and they make me feel like i’m such an important customer and they’re really sorry about the delay. the people at polu kai grill is lucky they served the food quick, or else.

their service people really sucked, that’s all i can say. the food and the place was great, but i won’t go back to eat there if the same people are serving. really.

anyway, my family and i still had fun going around, eating at Krispy Kreme and Figaro, and looking around at Hobbes & Landes. Mia and I also had some photo opps! hehe. also, at a certain time last night, they had fireworks and a symphony of blinking lights to the sound of christmas carols. it was really nice.

so if ever you have the time, go and have some fun at bonifacio high street or serendra. i recommend eating at Texas Roadhouse and ordering their salads, steaks, and the chicken tenders! then bring home some krispy kreme donuts and a cute dog or t-rex balloon from hobbes & landes :)
