Once upon a time, in a far away land, there was a beautiful little princess whose name is Mia. She was a joy to everyone who saw her, a jem in her mommy’s eyes, and the delight of her grandparents.
Hehe. The birthday party was a success. We did go to far far away land, but more like we drove there. My tita graciously let us hold the party at her house in Bulacan, and my family (extended included) helped me make it the nice kingdom i wanted it to be
My cousin Leah (and her friend Charmz) baked the cake and made these too-pretty-to-eat dessert cupcakes. Cute no? They taste great too! It doesn’t taste anything like the ‘ornamental’ cupcakes you can buy anywhere else and the icing is actually great (the ones from other shops are just nice to look at). For orders, email me. Hehe.
She also did the balloons, while Anne helped out. My motiff was pink and silver.
My mom and titas cooked the 5-course meal, which can rival the 7 corners at Crowne Plaza or the 4 seasons buffet at the Westin. Haha. The food tasted like catered daw, one of my friends told me (yey!). And I actually made myself useful in the kitchen by mixing the ingredients the day before. I leave the cooking to the experts.
This is just a preview of what goes down in my lola’s kitchen everytime we have a family reunion on Sundays or when there are special occasions (which is about 1-2 times a month). I love family gatherings because it only means one thing: food, food, food!
My friends were also there to complete the party. We were supposed to have games but there were just these 2 kids (and mia doesn’t count) who can’t even pronounce their complete names yet.
My nieces Clarice and Tep-Tep who enjoyed the cake more than the celebrant. Because the celebrant was too pissed to do anything but hang on to mommy and look at the swaying pink & silver balloons.

Mia and I also had a bit of photo-whoring session with Ninang Patty, Tito Maico, and Ninang Kookie.
She is not a big fan of cameras. This is bad for our business. Tsk tsk. Nevertheless I had fun; tiring but fulfilling, might i say. Thank you to everyone who was part of Mia’s first birthday one way or another. My shoutouts are right here as well as all the photos.
Hay, next year ulit!

Horaayy..there are 4 comment(s) for me so far ;)
Ris, adorable and such a grand bday party for your little darling. Looks like everyone loves her. Of course the proud MOM is more than beautiful.
Looking at the photos, I can’t help but to miss my youngest - sooner magbi-bday na rin yung baby nya.

mee, sure why not? kaya lang you might end up paying more for the freight than the product itself. hehe. galing no? alam mo bang wala akong sinabing specifics sa pinsan ko about what i wanted? sabi ko lang princess at pink and silver ang theme. at yung food naman, mom ko lang nag-isip nun (at yung california maki gawa ng tita ko), and we just made the most out of whatever resources we had. and sometimes i wonder where i get my resourcefulness from. hehehe
thanks again ha
